SMS27538@vax1.utulsa.edu Orange Road: Mything Pieces My name is Skeeve, and I'm a the president of M.Y.T.H. Inc, a job that can sometimes wear me down. Luckily for me, that job was lightened by hug. This particular hug came from a girl with green hair and almond cat-eyes. "Hi, Tanda." I replied wearily. "Work getting you down kiddo?" "Is it that obvious?" I said with a sigh in my voice. "I don't suppose you have a solution?" "As a matter of fact, I do. It's about time, you got a little time off, after getting Aahz back from Perv, and rescuing Klah from Hemlock, you deserve it." "Sound's good, you managed to get this past Aahz?" "Damn right, I was in on the idea from the start. Thanks to Bunny, we can afford a vacation." For those of you who don't know Aahz, he is a short stocky demon, who also happens to be my mentor or. It's a long story, but I have written it down, so you can read it when you find the time. It's called "Another Fine Myth.", well I'll forget the sales pitch and get back to the story at hand. "Wait, us? You're coming too?" I was a bit surprised. "My idea," said Tananda, "I thought it would be like old times. You know just the three of us." "Besides," began Aahz "I thought it might be a good time to teach you a new trick or two in the magic department, you do a fine job with what you've got, but that's no reason not to expand." "Good," Tananda smiled "now that's settled, I know where there's this perfect little beach, and it's nearly deserted. We'll have the whole place to ourselves." "Lets go back to our tent, pack up, and Skeeve..." I turned to face Aahz "be sure to pack the d-hopper, just in case." ------------- (Note this takes place after episode 48 but before the movie.) My name is Kyosuke Kusaga, and I was ready for one of the happiest days of my life. Madoka, was back from America for a visit and Hikkaru was visiting relatives, so Madoka and I could go to the beach alone... ...well almost alone. My sisters Manami, and Kurumi, and my cousin Akane we coming along as well. You see Akane had found this beach that almost no one knows about, and I invited us along. I hope she doesn't get up to her old tricks. "Ayukawa is ready, it's time to go oniechan" cried Karumi. We were packed an ready to go, nothing was going to ruin this day. ------ Before we got going, I had some things to say to Madoka "It's about Akane..." "Yes, go on..." "She has the ability to make you see images. She has gotten me into a lot of trouble. Remember the time she was here, when we were at the pool." "And you endeneded up with your face in my chest?" she laughed at this. "Yah," I said with a blush "Well she was messing with my head then." "Normally I'd think that a guy was making this up as an excuse, but with you I can believe it. You're not going to use Akane as an excuse for every stupid thing you've done are you?" I laughed, "No, I think I'm old enough to own up to my own stupid mistakes, like not telling you how I felt sooner." I looked into Madoka's eyes. "I'm not so sure I would have handled it that well, I've made some stupid mistakes myself, you know." At that Karumi yelled at us "Are you two comming, or should we leave without you. Madoka and I turned around laughing and ran for the car. When we got to the beach without any trouble. The beach was deserted except for us. Father got out his camera and took a few pictures, of Madoka and I, and a few of the twins and Akane. We splashed around in the water, I can't remember when I had more fun. It wash just us for a while, but latter three others showed up, and Akane dissapeared. We weren't woried, Akane left to get some food from the car, and the strangers weren't much of a problem. But something about one of them wasn't right. I stared at him a bit, and then his features changed. He became a deamon green and scally, with sharp teeth, large ears flattened against his head, and a purple toung. "Madoka," I asked "What do you see over there?" "Just two guys and a girl. Why, what's wrong" "Oh, Akane's up to her old tricks again. I see an oni, a guy and a girl. I think it's an illusion." I walked up to the oni, and put my hand on, him and to my surprise I felt scaley skin. He babbled something in a language that sounded a bit like english, but I couldn't follow any of it. I was in deap trouble, and it look like Madoka realized it, because she was running forward to help me. [next time, The Bizzar at Diva, and the above sceen from Skeeve's point of view.] Orange Road: Mything Pieces : Part 3 Hello, this is Skeeve again, I'm picking up a bit before where Kyusuke left off. Ahzz, Tanda and I had made the dimensional trip to the beach, and things were going smoothly, in fact too smoothly. If there's one thing I've learned on my adventures with Ahzz, it's that things always go wrong just when you least expect it, and smooth sailing, usually means there's a storm up ahead. We managed to "pop" in out of sight, and the disguise spell I casted on Ahzz was pretty good, at least no one was giving Ahzz a second glance. The problem with disguise spells is that the person who creates the disguise can't see the disguise himself, so I had only the word of my colleagues that the spell was go. We got to the beach sometime around late mourning. The sun was shining and, it looked like a beautiful day, the beach was deserted except for one family. "Don't sweat it kid," Ahzz began, "there's enough beach here for all of us. And if it gets too crowded, you can always remove your disguise spell and let me scare them off." Because I could see my own disguise spell on Ahzz, I got the full affect of Ahzz's smile when he finished his sentence. Ahzz's set of razor sharp teeth gave new meaning to the expression "wicked grin" "Give it a rest, Ahzz," Tananda began, "we here to have fun, not to spook the natives." "Well then, lets hit the beach." While I still have trouble with Ahzz's expressions (I still have no idea what a bullet is or why anyone would want to bite one), it wasn't hard to figure out he meant something other than pounding our fist into the sand. It looked like the fun was about to begin. That's the point where the storm I was telling you about came in. A black haired kid on a few years younger than I am, came running from the beach, walked up to Ahzz and started to accost him. "What's your problem," replied Ahzz "there's enough beach for all of us." Ahzz spread his arms in a gesture intended to convey his meaning, for this kid wasn't speaking any language that I new of. "Can either of you make out what he's saying?" "No," Tanda and I replied simultaneously. "Oh boy, If it isn't one thing it's another." "I should have thought to bring translation pendants with us," I moaned. "Don't worry Skeeve, you can't think of everything" Tananda responded. "Wait Ahzz, I recognize that word he just said, 'Oni'. It's Japanese for demon." At that point, the poor kid saw some thing, and his eye's went wide open, about the way I imagine my eye's looked when I first encountered Skeeve. He ran off like a shot. "Well, is Skeeve's disguise spell still working, because if so, he must have seen through it some how." "It's looks fine to me," answered Tananda. "Then he must have some power that lets him see through it." I said "I think, that's our cue to leave." "Tanda, let's try some place else" barked Ahzz "No problem," said Tananda, waving her arms in preparation for dimensional travel, and at that point something strange happened. This red haired girl came running out from behind the rocks at incredible speed, and before we could do get away, she was hugging Tananda. "Tanda, stop" I cried, "we can't take her with us." Then I heard someone yell "Akane!" "To late," Tananda answered and she was right, by the time she spoke we were already in at the Bazaar on Deva. When I looked around, two things stuck me. The fist was the fact that the red haired girl was nowhere to be seen. The second was that we had two very frightened an confused looking kids standing in front of us. "Oh boy," I sighed "what a way to start a vacation." It's time I let Kyosuke tell you his version of things. While Skeeve was telling his part of the story, things looked very different for Madoka and me. I had just started talking to Akane, who had disguised herself as an 'Oni', demon in English. "Listen Akane, you promised not to play games, I know that this isn't real." as I spoke, I realized that this might not be Akane, but some one disguised by Akane, and I began to instinctively look for Akane, and I did see her. She was returning from town with the drinks, there was no way she could have gotten their fast enough, and still been able to create this illusion. Actually, there were a few ways she could have done it, but I wasn't thinking clearly at the time. Anyway, I didn't want to take the chance that the demon was real, so I ran away. "What's wrong," Madoka asked me. "I don't think that was one of Akane's illusions." "Then why is she running over to them?" I turned to look and I saw Akane hugging the green haired girl. She was making motions with her hands and the air around her began to shimmer, I had to stop her, or Akane would go with them, somehow I knew that. I cried out to Akane and not pausing to think, I grabbed Madoka, and teleported in to stop them. When I opened my eyes we were in a different place, a parallel world. Madoka and I were so confused, that I think I should let Skeeve take over from here. Ok, Kyosuke, but I think this is a good stopping place for now. We'll get back to you folks later. -----Marc Seebass sms27538@vax1.utulsa.edu Seebam@euler.mcs.utulsa.edu or seebass@hpc1.utulsa.edu Comments, suggestions, and CONSTRUCTIVE criticism welcome.
